Social Welfare and Multi-Family Residential Complex

TLed the conceptual design for "Urban Mosaic Mixed-Use Tower," an approximately 22,170-square-meter mixed-use high-rise. Envisioned as a comprehensive vertical village, the architectural strategy weaves together essential urban infrastructure and neighborhood spirit by stacking a highly diverse program that includes multi-tenant apartment housing, child and elderly welfare facilities, research and development spaces, regional training centers, warehouse facilities, and recreational amenities. To visually articulate this complex zoning, a dual-facade design was implemented. A highly transparent glass exterior anchors the lower levels, inviting public engagement and expressing the accessible nature of the administrative, training, and welfare functions. This transparent base transitions into an elevated, multi-level communal courtyard on the eighth floor that serves as the building's social hub, complete with co-working spaces and a shared cafeteria. Above, the residential mass is distinguished by a checkerboard perforated metal facade, a material specifically chosen to balance privacy with environmental performance by filtering harsh daylight and maintaining natural ventilation. Working in tandem with strategically carved semi-outdoor terraces, this perforated screen provides residents with vital, protected access to fresh air and nature, successfully realizing a modern architectural response to post-pandemic urban living.
