Marble Interventions
This decorative intervention brings warmth and character to a modest, carefully maintained home in Silver Lake. Royal Peacock marble is used throughout to create a family of compact architectural objects, each designed to make efficient use of limited space.
Beginning at the entry, marble elements are integrated into the stairs as small sculptural surfaces that also provide occasional seating. In the foyer, plinths, benches, and niches combine display and everyday utility within a minimal footprint. Further inside, marble frames a wall opening and forms a console within an arched alcove, extending the material as a subtle sequence through the home.
Used sparingly, the deep green stone introduces color, pattern, and a sense of permanence while preserving the home’s simple, unpretentious character.
